The palace grounds are large, and sprawling, ranging wide upon either sides of the building itself, offering a place for a forest to blossom, and a small river to meander on trough at it’s own leisure. All game which are found upon this land are considered strict property of the empress; and as such, as expected, the poaching of these animals is considered a federal offense, and all offenses of such a matter shall be dealt with as the castle’s guard decides. Likewise, all small plants upon this property are considered Camille’s.
Within the back lot there lies a number of small gardens, ranging from a number of fruit baring trees, to a small vegetable garden, and a minimal walking garden, bordered with a number of colorful plants, and flowers. The palace is more than well-stocked, and near self-sufficient.
The exterior of the palace of Elysia is next to ancient, dating back as far as anyone within the town can remember, there are tales of it’s standing within books kept within the library in such a building. The building itself is faded, and grey, the moss brought upon by yearly rain cycles tinting the stone varying shades of blues and greens in a surreal sort of senseless mosaic. Those walls are tall, and looming, contoured to the best of any architects desires.
The windows, once thinly compiled sheets of mica have long since been replaced with pieces of pressed glass, inlaid with a red stain trim - Camille is well known for everything flamboyant, and over the top. This red trim sharply contrasts the dim exterior, drawing one’s eye towards the windows, and thereafter inwards to sneak any sort of peek at the indoors of the castle.
Upon the inside of the castle lies well-detailed vertical striped wallpaper; a deep shade of crimson, trimmed in golden details. This wallpaper cascades downward from the ceiling, before encountering a deeply shaded oak trim, where the wallpaper ceases to exist, and becomes simplistic white space before the kick-plate presents itself, once more this is made of oak, and blends nigh seamlessly into the oaken floors underfoot. It’s more than obvious that this palace has been heavily refurbished time, and time again to the past ruler’s likings, and finally to Camille’s own.
The ceiling is lined with a series of tubes, each leading in one direction or another, fastened in place, and together, with tight brass fixings. These tubes are a method of communication, from room to room, almost impossibly complex, and difficult to follow, let alone repair.
The stretch from floor-to-floor cannot only be crossed by stair, but there is also the option of elevators built into the stone innards; near perfected after years of working upon such. The palace remains well-heated throughout the year through a series of ducts, and vents bored into the walls, and floors.
The rooms within are wide, and open, decorated to Camille’s liking - every last one of them, including the council’s forum, where the most elite come to meet, and discuss varying issues bubbling up within the land of Elysia - little of which seems to bother Camille at all, let alone stir her to become involved within one of these meetings held about a broad hardwood table.
The palace is an awe-inspiring site, both inside, and out, and even more-so when one considers the number of technological advances the palace itself hosts.
