HISTORY:[/blockquote]
It was the government that had ruined her life.
From a young age Cadence had been pampered, and even spoiled. She’d been provided an adequate education, scoring high marks in most classes. Though not even her education seemed to last. A greedy streak had hit the royal family, and as a direct consequence near-all of her once-prestigious’ family’s land had been taken from them. All the families upon Soleil Hill had been affected.
For as long as Cadence could remembered she recalled a strict, and unwavering loyalty to the royal family within her family, and as such, they’d been more than willing to hand over their land.
Still, with near all their income flowing directly into the Empress’ pocket the family managed to keep up their wealthy appearance; the dress, the way of life, the mannerisms that came with heavily lined pockets. Cadence followed the lead.
It wasn’t until she was older that the young girl came to realize the wrongs the empire had preformed on not only her family, but the entirety of Elysia. People were suffering because of the government’s greed. In direct relation to this epiphany came the knowledge that Cadence, herself, would need to be the one to save her family.
Cade seemed eager to take charge of her family’s trades, going as far as to meander along their docking ports to survey the work being done, and even lending a hand to the best of her ability if it was truly needed. Though Cadence is by no means accustom to doing hard labor, or heavy lifting.
It’s on the docks of Thalasa that she met a boy; his name was Joscelin; he was sweet, and charming, with a silver tongue. And he was almost single-handedly responsible for Cadence’s full revocation of her allegiance to the Empress. The two of them had a startling amount in common, despite having come from near-opposite walks of life.
Cade recognized it was time for a change, and as such began filtering a menial amount of what funds her family had left into the resistance.
ROLE PLAY SAMPLE:
”Hello? Is this thing on?”
It’s the first thing anyone asks of a new tape recorder. Or a video camera. In this instance it’s a tape recorder. A digital one. No tape needed.
Pretty hot shit.
There’s the sound of a few fumbling clicks before she manages to thumb it off. It’s the soft scraping sound of the pads of her fingertips. Her fingerprints ruffling against the speaker of such a device before a number of buttons were being depressed.
She’s rewinding the tape to make sure she has this new-fangled machine is working.
She’s twenty five. Almost twenty-six.
She’s a professional gamer, and something as simple as a digital-tape recorder confuses her.
She appreciates the irony, but doesn’t really find it amusing.
“Piece of shit.”
She grunts, thumbing the device back on, heaven how knows long later. Maybe she’d read the instruction manual, or maybe she’d simply familiarized herself with the button layout.
She should have done that earlier.
But that’s Adeline for you. Always jumping the gun. All hot temper, and eager drive.
Her father says she gets it from her mother. It’s funny because her mother says the exact opposite. Once more Addi isn’t laughing.
It’s not that she’s serious. She just has a unique brand of humor. Most people don’t get it. And sometimes she doesn’t either.
Adeline is a complex woman. As most women. She loves many things, and dislikes almost an equal amount.
She’s a girl in a guy’s world, who’s simply looking to enjoy herself. And in all truth she is enjoying herself. She’s easy going, and almost warm, off the field.
Slap a mic on that pretty little head of hers, and a controller in her hand, and you’ll meet someone totally different, though.
Professional gaming is a game centered around a game. It’s an equal amount of trash-talking and pure skill.
And so is Adeline.
She’s a perfect contradiction. She’s content with herself.
