The sound of waves breaking upon beaches and cliff sides echoes through these small beach-side villages; loud and almost over-powering every other sound resounding throughout. Growing up in such an area one becomes accustomed to such sounds to the point of simply being lulled to sleep by those wet-noises upon rocks, and pebbles, sifting throughout the sand.
Small, single-person boats are drawn up and upon the clean sands, settled into place high on the beach, and still tied up, just in case the tide grows too high. No one here is afraid that their boats may be stolen, after all, where would someone hide such a well-sized structure within such small homes? Still, these boats are a way of life; providing for both sustenance, and a source of income.
Children are raised upon these waters, and taught their trades even at a young age.
It’s here that the air is fresh, and clean. A good, long distance set between these tiny sea-side villages, and any other major city belonging to Elysia. It’s quiet here, save for the sound of the wake, that is, calm and serene. It’s a place where almost everyone belongs, and everyone is equal, almost as if one large, extended family.
The air smells of salt, and seemingly everything is coated in a fine mist of such; one of the few downfalls of living in this particular region. That, and the simple fact that next to no technology exists in this region, and the train hardly plugs by. In a direct result these people seemed to have managed to developed a route towards town, via sea-way. It’s fast and effective; not to mention playing into these simple people’s strengths.
The simplistic people residing within the Hamlets are neither here nor there; neither state, nor rebel. It’s their far-off location that has to do with this simple fact; they’re simply too far away, and far too secluded for the empress to have anything to do with their simplistic village. Not to mention the fact that these folk don’t have much to offer by way of goods, nor land.
Still, they’ve heard tale of Camille’s viciousness, but still, these folk remain passive, these simple people are not looking for a fight after all, they’re simply looking to make it by, unbothered and unprovoked, just as anyone in their situation would.
