Imaginary lines drawn upon the world's face has become a reality. Manmade structures mark out the roads by way of cobble stones and stout-stone walls erected by the lower class via the government of Elysia. It's these that mark the beginning of a new era, and besides the roadways that mark the land, there are now other manmade innovations that lay upon Elysia's sweet soil.
Tracks for steam powered locomotives now make their way across the flatlands, through mountains and over cliffs by way of bridges to make their way from city to city. They not only carry supplies, trade items and other rare commodities, but also passengers who coud afford the luxury. It goes much the same for the steam powered ferries that roam up and down the wide Elysian rivers.
The Elysian Rivers thread deep through the land of Elysia; wide and swift, they're overpowered by the steam powered ferries. They had once been constructed to deliver supplies but now, besides being used for obvious trade routes, they are more used for a luxury and accomodation for the rich. It's not uncommon for balls and banquets to be held out at river now. Still, there are some ferries built specifically for the old time trade of delivering supplies to none other than miners who worked and plowed the land for rare minerals and ores.
Old abandoned mining structures could be seen from afar and their mark upon the earth even more so. Cavities and pock marks stand out against the greenery and lush landscape of Elysia which quietly whisper tales of a land that's been lost, and of a world that once was. All that now stands beside these pock marks are mammoth drills and cranes that are rusted and weathered with age; stuck to the ground for ages to come. These are not the only things one would find out on the open land of Elysia though, nor upon the roadside.
Roadside taverns of all sorts could be found from those seemingly seedy or those of an elegant nature. It's not uncommon for these taverns to have a small town situated around such for proper business alongside relief stations for horses. It's all of this that makes up the open world of Elysia and much, much more. If only one would truly take the time to breathe such in.
